The most anticipated, the most rumored, the most desired… iPod touch is here , and without the annoying distribution restrictions of the iPhone, with which it shares much more than the great 3.5-inch multi-touch screen.
Thus, we find well known functions (by Americans and the lucky few who have it around) such as web browsing with Safari thanks to a Wi-Fi connection (802.11bg), the interface with Cover Flow that adapts to orientation, video playback (in addition to YouTube), photo slideshows… It’s a pity that the Mail or Google Maps applications have been left in the inkwell (??), but I’m sure we’ll soon be receiving news that will fill up all that space on the main screen.
Finally, a new feature that has arrived with this new iPod is the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, from which we can search for the songs we want, listen to a preview and buy them without touching the computer .
The iPod touch is available in two models of 8 and 16 GB at a price of 289 and 389 euros, and will start to be distributed on September 28th . Its body is thinner than that of the iPhone (only 8 mm), and it has a range of 22 hours of sound and 5 hours of video reproduction.
On the Apple website you can find an image gallery, the traditional 360º view and a guided tour in which the features of iPod touch are reviewed.
