All new iPhone users are unpleasantly surprised to discover the complexity of setting our favorite song as a call song . It’s really not at all simple and in a way it’s a way to get us to buy the ringtone on the iTunes Store, as many users won’t want to waste so much time creating the ringtone themselves.
Luckily for everyone, new and old users alike, the iTunes desktop application has recently been updated. Apple wanted to renew a little bit the operation of this great music manager and it has succeeded. Not only is it now a lighter and more stable application, it’s also now easier to import ringtones into our smartphone .
Starting at the beginning, Apple ringtones are saved in .m4r format. These are usually 30-second audio tracks with a song chorus . They can also be short sounds to add to a system notification or anything else we like.
As I said, it’s easier than ever. Just download the ringtone from a ZEDGE-like page, connect your iPhone via the USB Lightning cable to your PC or Mac with iTunes open, and click on the “Ringtones” tab on the left. By clicking on this option a list will appear in which we can drag and drop the downloaded .m4r tones . We synchronize and that’s it, could it be easier?
Now we just need to go to the settings of our iPhone , Sounds and Ringtone . In this menu we’ll see all the new ringtones we’ve imported from iTunes right in the top party, when we click on any of them it will start playing and we’ll check if everything is correct. Now you don’t have to keep the typical iOS default ringtone , you can literally play any ringtone you want.
