The iPhone 4 is no longer sold in India

The only country that until now had the iPhone 4 on sale was India, in order to increase sales in this emerging market, which does not have enough purchasing power to access the most modern models. The relaunch came in January, after it was discontinued following the appearance of the iPhone 5s in favour of the iPhone 4s.

Well, four months later, the old Apple terminal is disappearing from the Indian Apple Store again, and Android is walking the beat on its own again. The reasons for the withdrawal of the iPhone 4 from India could be its poor sales in the last quarter, which remained at a discreet 2.4 million units, compared to the almost 40 million phones sold by Samsung.

The sales price was quite attractive for what we are used to from Apple, 20,000 Indian rupees, which is about 240 euros. However, such a price does not offer Apple the profit margins they are used to , so they have decided to finally back off.

Therefore, if we decide to purchase an iPhone 4 in India, the available units will be limited to the remaining stock , as shops cannot place new orders with Apple for two weeks .

The most optimistic say that Apple could take iPhone 4 to other emerging markets such as Brazil or China, and some even dare to say that it is a technical problem. What is clear is that the iPhone 4 has not worked in India as Apple expected .
