After the official launch of iOS 13, many of you are asking whether your ‘old’ iPhone will be able to upgrade to this new version of the operating system when it is available to all users. To answer this question, this article details all the devices that will be compatible with iOS 13 , encouraging you to check whether yours will enter this new generation or not.
Unfortunately, the bad omens that were predicted prior to the launch of iOS 13 have been fulfilled. Apple has left up to 2 generations of iPhone unupdated : the iPhone 5s and 6/6 Plus , which will remain with iOS 12 as the latest compatible software version.
The complete list of iOS 13 compatible devices is as follows (please note that iPads will now have iPadOS as their operating system):
- iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS and XS Max
We could all sense that the iPhone 5s would be left out of this update and, in fact, iOS 12 was already a surprise for this device. However, it was not so clear that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus could be left out because they are still quite powerful devices with a 64-bit chip.
