If we visit the support page of Apple , we can see a growth of users who are having problems with the iPhone X rear camera.
It seems that cracks are appearing around the lenses, although the users themselves claim that at no time have they suffered falls or blows to the lens. Something really strange. One of the first hypotheses could be the low temperatures, where the material could suffer this type of cracks.
On the contrary, other users claim to live in places with stable and pleasant temperatures, so that this problem should be ruled out . Apple is not taking care of these anomalies, at least under warranty, having to pay in some cases up to almost $600 for the repair.
Apple defends that the material that protects the cameras is of the highest quality, introducing the sapphire from iPhone 7 to avoid any anomaly in such a delicate area. Above all because if we do not use a case, the back would always support the camera itself by the pronounced projection that these have.
Although the volume of these complaints on the forums themselves of Apple as on Reddit are increasing, it does not seem to be a widespread problem. Virtually all of them claim that they have not been hit, nor have they been scratched on the back of the camera.
“My iPhone X also has a small crack in the camera glass. The phone has never fallen out, I’ve never been out of the case and I live in Hawaii, so not even the cold. The iPhone X is two months old”
Apple has not issued any statement to this effect at this time. In Spain we are not aware of any such problem, at least not widespread, but it would be interesting to know if you have also had any of these problems with the rear camera of your iPhone X .
