It has been going on since the early iOS beta versions, when it was still called iPhone OS. With the arrival of iOS 4.3 beta , developers have started to dig deep into their preference files and… Bingo! Code names of devices not yet released to the public have been found .
We have six devices: iPhone3.3, iPhone4.1, iPhone4.2, iPad2.1, iPad2.2 and the iPad2.3 . Knowing that the iPhone3.1 is the AT&T iPhone 4 and the iPhone3.2 is the recent Verizon model, we could be looking at a new revision of the iPhone (3.3) and the next generation phone models (4.1 and 4.2). As for the iPad codes, there would be three next-generation tablet models (or two but with certain differences between operators, as has happened with the iPhone).
In theory we are just a few weeks away from having the new iPad officially presented, and with this clue found in the beta of the new iOS we can say that definitely the first review of the king of tablets in the market is on its way . Only with the new gestures that Apple has introduced in its system it already becomes an interesting model.
