If finally these predictions are true, we will have the LCD model at a lower price and with some features of the other two models. To differentiate it a bit more, Apple may launch it in new colors apart from the already known ones.
According to analyst Jun Zhang of Rosenblatt and as stated by StreetInsider, Apple could launch the ‘iPhone 8s’ in blue, yellow and pink as well as silver and space grey . Although Apple launches three different colors each year, the analyst believes that Apple needs to differentiate more the LCD model with respect to OLED models this year, therefore a reasonable solution would be to add colors.
It wouldn’t be the first time that Apple launches an iPhone in so many colors. In 2013 the iPhone 5c arrived in white, pink, yellow, blue and green. It was an iPhone with features that were inferior to the main model and one of the features that made it stand out was its different colors, in fact the ‘c’ referred to exactly that.
It should be noted, however, that the statements of analyst Jun Zhang are pure speculation , they are not based on leaks or data obtained from the supply chain. Speculations that have some basis if we look at the past but can also be simply dismissed ideas. Let us bear in mind that “colouring” aluminium and steel is not as simple as with polycarbonate.
What is expected for this iPhone is a 6.1-inch screen with LCD technology . It seems that it will also incorporate a TrueDepth camera and leave the Home button. Finally, it is expected to come at a much lower price than the OLED models, especially because of the absence of features that will in principle be exclusive to OLED models.
