Time Bandits’, another in-house production that Apple may have based on an 80s film

Apple no quiere violencia ni sexo en sus series propias

We continue to see more and more series and documentaries appearing that Apple has commissioned to add to its catalogue of original productions. The most recent is an adaptation of the film ‘Time Bandits’ , released in 1981. In Spain it had the title translated into ‘The Heroes of Time’.

Directed by Terry Gilliam, the original film of ‘Time Bandits’ is about the adventures of a boy and six dwarves who travel in time and space visiting historical characters such as Napoleon or Robin Hood. The director has also been responsible for several of Monty Phyton’s films and has recently released a very particular vision of Don Quixote.

According to Deadline, negotiations to produce this series would still be on the table and therefore there are no concrete details about it. No director has been confirmed yet, nor producer nor actors who will play the characters. But it would be co-produced by Anonymous Content, Paramount Television and Media Rights Capital.

If confirmed, ‘Time Bandits’ will be added to the already long list of series that Apple has planned for the coming years. We should see the release of some catalogue by 2019, maybe 2020. It all depends on whether filming goes according to plan.
