New problems on the Apple roof. Apparently groups of MacBook owners are organizing themselves on the Staingate.org site to protest and demand solutions to problems with their computer screens . It seems that the computers most affected by this problem are those sold in 2013, although there are previous cases, specifically the first detected belong to computers from 2009.
The group is presented as follows:
Those affected indicate that there is no clear pattern as to how this problem starts. In some cases the problem starts in the frames of the screen, while in others the problem appears as large spots in the middle of the screen. Moreover, the problems do not always appear after years of use, but in some cases they appear after 6-7 months of use of the computer.
The affected group comments that, at the moment, Apple considers that as a ” aesthetic damage “, so the company is not taking care of the repairs of these equipments. This means that it is the owners of the equipment who have to pay for the repair, which can cost more than $800 in some cases.
The law firm of Bryson Whitfield & Mason has contacted the group of owners and it seems that they are already collecting data from those affected in order to take the case to court to try to get Apple to take over the repair of this equipment.
We do not know how all this will end, although taking into account the way the company acts with other similar problems we believe that eventually the screens will replace all affected users.
