This is everything Apple didn’t announce in yesterday’s keynote

The keynote held yesterday by Apple in New York brought us interesting new devices. Tim Cook and his team announced a spectacular new iPad Pro and a long-awaited upgrade for both Macbook Air and Mac mini.

However, there are several devices and accessories that we could not see . Either because Apple is not going to renew them or because it is not yet time to show them. Whatever the reason, this is all that was left in the inkwell.

iPad mini

Yesterday was the day that Apple revamped two of its longest standing devices , the MacBook Air and Mac mini. But there’s another device that hasn’t been updated for years.

The iPad mini seems to be in a limbo that Apple doesn’t want to take it out of. The last time it was updated was in the year 2015 when Apple introduced the iPad mini 4. We do not know what plans Apple has, although Ming-Chi Kuo assured that we would see an update, it was not.

AirPower

It may be the longest waiting device in Apple’s history , it has been almost 14 months since its introduction. We know that Apple is having problems with its manufacturing, but in the instructions for the new iPhone they name the charging cradle.

Yesterday we didn’t see any reference to Apple’s charging base , let’s hope they have a good excuse, either if the product never sees the light or if they cancel it definitively.

AirPods 2

Another accessory that has not been updated either. It’s true that Apple hasn’t announced them and so far we’ve only had rumors, but the current ones are two years old and it’s time to renew them.

By the way, we have also not seen the wireless charging case for the current AirPods, it must be being manufactured together with the AirPower base.

MacBook

Apple’s strategy is being somewhat confused in terms of its laptops . When the MacBook was introduced, we all saw it as a clear replacement for MacBook Air, but it hasn’t been.

Yesterday, Apple presented a new Air and the range of laptops is a bit confusing. It’s true that the new Air is a little cheaper than the MacBook, but it only has 128GB of capacity in exchange. If we opt for the 256 configuration, the MacBook and the Macbook Air have practically the same price .

It would have made more sense to lower the price of the MacBook as it has a smaller screen and a lower processor. But Apple didn’t think so and the MacBook wasn’t renewed yesterday.

iMac

Apple’s desktop computer wasn’t renewed yesterday either, not even internally. The exterior design of the iMac is already a few years old so it wouldn’t have been strange to see a new one where the screen makes better use of the frames.

This has not been the case so this redesign is postponed to a later date. The internal configurations have not changed either , the iMac remains the same.

Mac Pro

Another non-renewable Mac. Apple is preparing a new Mac Pro , the company itself has recognized it. This new Mac Pro promises to be much more configurable than the current one, something that professionals are demanding.

Yesterday could have been a good day to do it, but it wasn’t. We may see it through 2019 , but rumours indicate that it will be ready next year.

Cases for iPhone XR

And finally, the iPhone XR cases. Apple has not released its official cases for this device , something very strange since the iPhone XS and XS Max do have their own cases.

In addition, Apple inadvertently confirmed the launch of an official transparent case a few days ago. It’s quite rare but we still don’t have official Apple cases for the iPhone XR.
