Apple released the third beta version of the upcoming iOS 10.3 update to developers, two weeks after the second beta version of iOS 10.3 and more than two months after the release of iOS 10.2, the latest major update to the iOS 10 operating system.
Registered developers can download the third beta version of iOS 10.3 from the Apple Developer Center or from the appropriate installed configuration profile.
This update to iOS 10.3 is quite important as it introduces several new features and changes to the iOS 10 operating system. The biggest new consumer feature is “Find My AirPods” which is designed to help AirPod owners locate a missing headset. “Find My AirPods” records the last known location of when an AirPod was connected to an iOS device via Bluetooth and can play a sound on a lost AirPod.
The latest update from Apple also introduces a new Apple file system , which is installed when an iOS device is upgraded to iOS 10.3. APFS is optimized for SSD flash storage and includes features such as strong encryption.
Apple plans to make some changes to the app store in iOS 10.3, allowing developers to respond to customer feedback for the first time. iOS users can also tag comments in the app store as “Useful” or “Not useful” , which should help overcome the content of the more relevant review.
There is a new “Application Compatibility” section that shows the applications that may not work with a future version of iOS. As discovered in previous betas, when you open one of these applications on your iOS device, a warning with a similar unsupported statement appears. Application compatibility can be accessed by opening “Settings” and selecting “General” then “Applications”.
The wait to enjoy the interesting changes is shortened…
