It’s event week and it was today when Microsoft opened the season with the presentation of the new i7 Surface Book which will make it very difficult for the MacBook that will be presented tomorrow – and from which we expect great things.
However, at Applesupportphonenumber we prefer to focus on the present and, as there are still a few hours left for this presentation, the toughest rivals for the new Surface Book i7 are the MacBook Pro – specifically the 13-inch ones, due to similarities in size – so from here we have decided to carry out a comparison between these two devices to see which one will be the best.
Surface Book i7 vs. 13-inch MacBook Pro
The new Surface Book i7 brings, as we see in its own name, the new generation of the Intel Core i7 processor -Skylake-, which comes with 8 or 16 GB of RAM, depending on the version we choose. In addition to this, significant improvements have been implemented on the screen, which now features Stunning PixelSense technology and the battery, which extends its duration to 16 hours in video playback. As for storage, part of 256 GB, which will arrive along with 8 GB of RAM, although there are other versions of 512 GB and 1 TB that will have 16 GB of RAM.
By contrast, the MacBook Pro (specifically the 512GB version of storage), mounts a 2.9GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor, but offers a configuration option with the 3.1GHz Intel Core i7 dual-core, so is nothing like the new Surface Book, at least in power.
The screen, as in the vast majority of Apple devices, makes use of Retina technology and the battery is stoically maintained in the 12 hours of video playback, which gives a slight advantage to Microsoft’s alternative in terms of autonomy, but without positioning itself as a clear winner in the other sections, such as design, in which we think the model of Cupertino’s seems better built.

Will it survive the 2016 MacBook?
This new Surface Book i7 is one of the heavyweights of 2017 , but it remains to be seen whether the new MacBook Pro 2016 will not put it through more of a rush, as it will probably bring the innovation that Microsoft has left behind this year.
With this new iteration we see improvements in most sections but it is far from bringing a major new feature to the Magic Toolbar level that the new MacBook Pro will bring. Therefore, although it is sure to be a sales success, it looks like it will be difficult to keep up with the new features that Apple will bring us tomorrow.
What do you think of the new Surface Book i7? Do you think it will be a match for MacBook Pro 2016?
