Well, we discussed it a few hours ago and it’s official. Apple renews its iPod range. We have new iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod shuffle. An update that after so many years serves to make sure we don’t think they’ve forgotten about them and give them a little more life as a product category. Here’s what’s new.
New iPod touch
The new iPod touch now comes in different colors. We have silver, space grey and gold to match the colour scheme of the iPhone and iPad. Then there’s pink, blue, and red (Product Red).
Along with those color options we have four storage options. 16, 32 and 64 GB plus a 128 GB option that is exclusive to Apple . That is, we can only get it by buying directly from the Apple Store and not from authorized dealers.
Otherwise, with the same four-inch screen and 1136×640 pixel resolution – you can see that for the iPod all four inches are still perfect or have excess screens – the highlight is the inclusion of an Apple A8 processor plus the M8 motion coprocessor . As well as the 8MP iSight camera, which shares the iPhone 6’s stabilisation system.
The new camera will allow better photos to be taken thanks to its f2.4 aperture, as well as movies by allowing recording at 1080p and 30 fps or in slow motion at 120 frames per second.

Like iPod nano, shuffle doesn’t change much beyond the colors available. It’s still the smallest iPod and, while it may seem like the opposite, one of the best choices for sports activities.
