We don’t know if it’s an iPad mini 5 or an iPad Air 10.5 inch, but we deduce that this score from the Geekbench tests can be from either of the two new tablets since in terms of internal features they are very similar. MacRumors has published them, and they reveal that these new iPads have a performance on par with the most modern iPhones.
In fact these results give away that the new iPad (or at least one of the new models) has 3 GB of RAM . That’s one GB less than the memory of the iPad Pro and the iPhone XS, but one more than the memory of the 9.7-inch iPad. iPhone XR also has 3GB of RAM.
In AppleNew iPad mini and iPad Air: these are the main differences between the iPad in 2019
The total Geekbench score for these new iPads is 4,806 for single-core operations and 11,607 for multi-core operations . Those same scores, on the iPhone XS, are 4776 and 11,430 respectively. Not bad, right? We’re looking at an iPad that’s perfectly suited for high-performance games and applications that require the use of augmented reality.
Also note that those iPads will arrive with iOS 12.2 pre-installed, so perhaps that score will also be improved by further optimization of the operating system. The same may happen when that version arrives in a stable way to the rest of the devices, although it is something we will have to check when it happens.
