The new iPad Pro with 3D cameras goes into production

Just hours after we learned that Apple has prepared a keynote for March 31st to introduce the new iPhone 9 SE 2, as long as the rumors are true, new information about the possible new iPad Pro has arrived.

The new iPad Pro with the camera system of the iPhone 11 Pro has just started production and is likely to be launched in March, according to a recent report by Digitimes . Combining the two rumours, everything indicates that Apple will present it together with its new iPhone.

We already know that Apple’s partners are having problems manufacturing their devices, the coronavirus has drastically reduced production and this may alter the company’s launch plans. According to today’s report, Apple could delay the launch of the new iPad Pro until April, something that fits with a March 31st presentation , or start shipping it earlier in limited quantities.

Digitimes emphasizes that production will not stabilize until April and that Apple will be able to produce around 3 million iPads per month . As for the new device, it is reported that the new iPad Pro will have a triple system that includes a 3D ToF or time of flight sensor.

This ToF sensor will help the iPad to measure distances and dimension objects in the real world with augmented reality applications. It is expected that this year’s iPhone 12 will also include a ToF sensor that could help both in portrait mode and in these same augmented reality apps.

Finally it should be noted that at all times Digitimes speaks the new model as a “12 inch iPad Pro” , this is somewhat strange since the current iPad Pro models are 11 and 12.9 inches, we do not know if this is a mistake or that Apple will change the screen sizes again.
