The new health app for the Apple Watch from Aetna and Apple will arrive in spring

Aetna is one of America’s best-known health insurance companies. So much so that it is the third largest insurance provider in the country. The company announced today that it will soon launch a new health app for Apple Watch called Attain. Here are more details about this app that has been developed in conjunction with Apple itself.

Without being considered a certified medical product, the Apple Watch helps thousands of people maintain a good standard of living thanks to its recommendations for exercise or its pulse measurement or electrocardiogram functionalities. The latter functionality is currently only available in the United States.

The application Attain , which as we say has been developed by Aetna and Apple , will help users to track their daily activity and make recommendations for a healthy lifestyle . This will be done through the iPhone application and helped by the parameters obtained from the Apple Watch.

Attain will also try to motivate users with different daily and weekly challenges depending on their age, gender and weight. Attain activities include walking, running, swimming, yoga and other activities that can be measured with the Apple Watch Workout app.

The fact that users can have the option to share their health data with Apple will allow both the app company and Aetna to collaborate on further developing and improving the application. Analytics and machine learning will also be key factors in the smooth operation of Attain.

Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer, has described the app that will soon be available on the iOS App Store:

“Every day we receive emails and letters from people all over the world who have found great benefit in incorporating the Apple Watch into their lives and daily routines. […] The goal (from Attain) is to make more personalized recommendations that help users achieve their goals and live healthy lives.

It should be noted that the data obtained by Attain will not be used for any type of subscription, premium or coverage of the company Aetna as reported by them. The first version of this app is expected to arrive on the App Store in spring 2019.
