A little over two weeks ago, Apple placed a huge mural full of Chinese calligraphy created by Wang Dongling to announce the upcoming opening of the Hangzhou store . The sign alone was already promising, but the shop behind it looked even better. The official image above shows it.
We are looking at a large “cube” with a glass front and other opaque faces , with metal edges and a body that looks like stone. There are two floors: a lower one with all the products on display and an upper one where you can go to the Genius Bar and receive training. Two side stairs similar to those in the Apple Store in Passeig de Gràcia join the two floors.
Even Tim Cook himself has shared a picture of the opening from his Twitter:
I have the impression that we will see more stores looking like this . If you remember, the new shop planned for downtown San Francisco will look very similar, at least on paper. And I think that’s good, because they meet everything that defines an Apple Store: they are iconic, they are huge and their interior practically merges with the street.
