Apple.es – Compara los modelos de iPhone y Compara los modelos de iPad
Starting with the improvements of version 4.1, an incremental software update that did not require any hardware changes, we find the incorporation of the new Bluetooth Core Specification Addenda (CSA 1, 2, 3 and 4) that facilitate the automatic connection of devices as soon as they enter their range, allow the simultaneous use of several profiles and improve the coexistence with LTE.
Version 4.2, published by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group in December last year, includes important new features for the IoT ( Internet of Things ) such as an Internet connection without intermediaries thanks to IPv66LoWPAN support, optimization of battery consumption or an increase in speed (2.5 times faster) and supported data volume (10 times more).
This last feature (called Data Length Extension ) requires specific hardware that we do not know whether or not is present in Apple devices, although other important improvements in this version such as privacy , so that no Bluetooth Smart device can be tracked without our prior consent, are software specific.
The iPhone 5s and the iPad Air and iPad mini 2 are still in version 4.0, leaving us with the doubt about the iPad mini 3. The same goes for the new iMacs launched yesterday, although we have confirmation that the new accessories Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad 2 and Magic Mouse 2 do support Bluetooth 4.2 .
