Again it had to be All Things Digital with her good contacts at Apple that raised a rumor that was already taking a while. According to this medium, which has always enjoyed privileged knowledge of Cupertino’s company, Tim Cook is already preparing the presentation of the iPad 3 , or whatever it ends up being called, in the first week of March .

The event would be exclusive to talk about the new tablet and would take place at the Yerba Buena Center in the city of San Francisco , where the two previous models have also been announced. Interestingly, both the original iPad and the iPad 2 were presented to the world on a Wednesday , if that’s Apple’s idea now the day could also be March 7 (or until February 29 depending on what we understand by the news).

If this information is reliable, there are other unknowns that we would like to know but that I am afraid will not be clarified until that day. Firstly who will be the master of ceremonies for the occasion, and secondly what specifications the new device will have.

It seems clear that will implement the 2048×1536 pixel Retina display , and it seems also clear that it will integrate a more powerful processor as well as much faster graphics. However, in the last few hours and after the information revealed by The Verge it seems that the A6 processor will not be quad-core or quad-core as some originally claimed.

The images of the case shown on various blogs also confirm that the iPad 3 will not have a significant change in the external design , except that it will be a little thicker (one millimetre) to accommodate the Retina Display technology.

Anyway, the interesting thing about this news is that we’re probably only a few weeks away from meeting the iPad 3, the tablet that you’ll fall in love with this year 2012.
