Adam Young (Owl City) is discovered as the author of the iOS 7 ringtones

It may not be the most significant new feature of iOS 7 but the new ringtones and alerts in the latest version of the apple’s mobile operating system have also done their bit in a profound renovation that has left no puppet with a head.

We already knew the interesting story behind Marimba, the original iPhone ringtone, but now we also know the creator of its substitutes: Adam Young , the composer and vocalist behind the hit synthpop and electronic music band Owl City .

Many followers of this curious musical project born in a basement in Minnesota had already noticed that the tones of iOS 7 carried the particular seal of the house, but today we received the official confirmation when we found them among Young’s discography in his official website. The news didn’t take long to sound loud and clear in all media and Young ran, probably at Apple’s request, to remove all reference to iOS 7 from the list.

Young and Owl City have such well-known themes as Fireflies , Good Time with Carly Rae Jepsen or When Can I See You Again? , the main theme of Disney’s (fantastic) 3D animation film, Wreck-It Ralph. Like so many other musicians, Young is an avid Mac user who uses Apple applications such as Logic or Pro Tools, and Propellerhead’s Reason for his compositions, so this commission for the apple must have come full circle for him.
