This news was announced after a meeting with several members of the team developing Final Cut Pro X and we will have it by the end of the year, possibly in version 10.0.5.
- Tools for multi-channel audio editing
- Two viewfinders, needed to compare clips and improve multi-camera editing among other advantages
- Support for MXF (Material eXchange Format, a file format that enables interoperability between different applications or equipment)
- Support for RED cameras
With these new features plus the performance improvement Apple wants us to know that Final Cut Pro X is a long-term project for professionals . As they said, they are laying the foundations for the edition of the future, with totally new workflows adapted to the digital era. And we’ll see if Jordan’s hunch about developing an application to complement Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5 and Compressor 4 comes true as there are some candidates in Final Cut Studio who fell by the wayside. Anyway, they should step on the gas without forgetting to do things right before other companies eat them up more than they should.
