Apple continues to work on improving iOS 10, and proof of this is that betas continue to creep into the developer community. iOS 10.2 beta 3 has recently done so by reversing a change from the previous beta that provoked users’ anger.

A deleted application? A bug in the system preferences? No, people had taken out the torches because the peach emoji no longer looked like a butt after it was drawn more in profile. An attempt to stop it from being used?

Many media outlets reflected the fact in tone of humor. New York Magazine even treated it as “an emergency”:

We already have some evidence that when Apple changes the design of some of its emojis, such change becomes a matter of national security . iOS 10.2 adds some new ones, with Apple proposing to include more professions in the collection to try to avoid discrimination of all kinds. The company has even managed to veto emojis of weapons.

In fact, notice how in the ads for the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar the videos focus quite a bit on promoting how we can use that OLED screen to add emojis to our texts. I don’t think anyone will spend the money that the new laptop costs just for that convenience, but something tells me that it will be a good marketing tool.
