The best way to repair a locked iPhone after upgrading to iOS 10

Now that iOS 10 is available to millions of people around the world, we are upgrading our iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch to this new version of the operating system. In general the upgrade procedure will be completed without complications and we will be able to enjoy the new features of the new OS version, but also there will be some cases where the upgrade fails and leaves the devices “unusable” . Today we want to talk about these cases and how to recover many of these iDevices thanks to a software called Dr.Fone that has an iOS system recovery function.

As we always say, the first thing we should do before embarking on an upgrade is a full backup. That way, in case of a disaster, our data will always be safe and recoverable at all times. As a general rule, after the update our devices will continue to work normally with the new version of the operating system, but if we find a white screen, a reboot loop, the black screen or similar in the following lines we talk about a possible way to return these devices to normal after the update to iOS 10.

If the update has gone wrong on our device and we encounter any of the problems mentioned above, we can try to recover it by following the steps below.

1.- We access Dr.Fone’s website, download the software that allows us to return the iPhone to normal and install it on our computer.

2.- Open the application and click on the option More tools .

3.- Now we click on the tool iOS System Recovery .

4.- Click on the button Start .

5.- Follow the instructions on the screen and connect the device to the computer. In case it does not detect it automatically, we must turn it off completely and connect the USB cable while we keep the Home button of the device pressed until the USB cable with the iTunes icon appears on the screen.

6.- Check that the program detects the device correctly, choose the latest available version of iOS in case it does not show it automatically and click on download.

7.- The download of the iOS installation package will start, a step that will take more or less time depending on our Internet connection.

8.- When the download is complete, click on the button Start repair and the software will automatically start repairing the selected device.

After a few minutes, the operating system will be repaired and the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch should normally return to normal operation . After that, if everything goes well, we can use the iDevice normally and with all our data available. This is the main difference to using other methods to recover the device after an update failure, in this case our data will remain intact and will not be restored to factory status as with other procedures of this type.

We hope that this little guide will help you to get a troubled device back to normal after upgrading to iOS 10.
