The auction for lunch with Tim Cook this year has closed for $515,000

Every year around this time Tim Cook offers his traditional auction . In it, he offers a meal with the donor and part of his time in exchange for a sum of money that will go directly to a charity.
Whether you like Apple or not, this type of action is great, since neither Apple nor Tim Cook benefit from it , everything goes directly to the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation for Human Rights (in fact Tim Cook recently joined as a member of the association). This year, the sum amounts to $515,000, a figure which, although it seems high, is not the largest achieved by Tim in this type of event.

This auction is conducted through Charitybuzz. Over the past four years Tim Cook has raised $610,000, $330,000, $200,000 and $515,000 respectively. This year is the second year in terms of quantity, breaking the downward trend of the last two years. We’ll see if next year is another record-breaking year.
As a curiosity, the lucky bidder who won the lunch with Tim Cook will also receive two VIP passes for an Apple keynote and a tour of the company’s offices. What is not entirely clear is whether he will be able to make that tour of the new Campus 2 offices or whether the lunch will be held before the opening.
