Something similar happened in their day with the iPhone and the iPad, they began to climb the ladder to become one of the company’s main sources of income. According to a new chart shared by Horace Dediu, the Apple Watch is already a bigger business than the iPod ever was.

The graph shows Apple’s revenue from Q2 2009 through Q4 2018. The iPod was a personal device (usually small) in which each user included their favorite music and always carried it with them. The Apple Watch does something very similar, although instead of carrying it in a pocket, we carry it on our wrist.

Now however the Apple Watch also is smarter and much more capable than the iPo d could be, something obvious with the technological evolution we have had in recent years. Although if there is certainly something that has improved with respect to the iPod is in the health functions it incorporates. The different sensors, the apps to exercise and measure our body and activities have been the differential point that distinguishes the Apple clock.
