El servicio de TV por streaming de Apple no verá la luz, al menos, hasta 2016
We’ve only recently been enjoying the new Apple TV in our living rooms, but beware: Apple is already working on several features for what may come in the future. This patent comes from Patently Apple shows us, with a new function to detect whether we are in front of the TV or not .
In the document, and with the image you can see above, we can see how it would work: if a TV is emitting sound and detects other different sounds (the ones we would emit ourselves) with Siri Remote or with other sensors, the image could avoid going to sleep as it would know that we are present and most probably with our eyes on the screen.
The patent describes the Apple TV as “something optional”
It is surprising that the scheme describes the Apple TV as “optional” , suggesting that Apple has been experimenting with a television of its own. Either that, or the patent still considers the Apple TV to be an accessory that can be connected to any television without any problem.
An interesting feature of this patent is also an interface for switching between several TV channels that broadcast a live signal. There, channels could be exchanged with movies and series or even applications, such as Netflix. It is also possible to navigate between content that has been broadcast by a single television channel, provided that this channel is compatible.
This is in line with Apple’s rumours describing a company’s own television service, or even the production of its own content. There may not be any dealings with the companies and distributors yet, but from a software point of view everything seems to be covered.
