Rumors continue to circulate around the Apple Car. A few days ago we told you how the vehicle might look thanks to a report shared by Motor Trend, and now a new leak tells us some details about the manufacture of the Apple Car.
According to 9to5Mac, a local media in Germany indicated that Cupertino’s firm could order the manufacture of his car to the Austrian company Magna, the same creator of models such as the BMW X3 and the Mini Paceman and Clubman .
According to the publication, Apple has a secret laboratory located in Berlin, where about 20 automobile experts would be working on this project. Although the report does not provide more details about the Apple Car, it does tell us that the company of the apple will possibly choose Germany or Austria to produce its cars, which is not surprising if we consider that both territories have been the headquarters of brands such as Audi, BMW, Porsche and Mercedes Benz .
It is important to remember that this is not the first time we have heard a rumour linking BMW and Apple. Since 2014 several members of the apple company were visiting the BMW factory in Leizpig and in July 2015 we reported that Apple seemed to be interested in reaching some kind of collaboration agreement with BMW , but at that time the talks did not come to a successful conclusion. However, knowing today’s rumors, we can only say that: “when the river sounds, water comes” .
On the other hand, 9to5Mac also recalls that in 2015 it was also reported that Apple executives visited Austria to meet with Magna . Supposedly the aim of this meeting was to discuss the apple company’s car project.
As we mentioned from the beginning, for now it’s only rumors because Cupertino’s firm has not given many details about this project , beyond the fact that Tim Cook assured that waiting for the Apple Car will be as exciting as waiting for Christmas Eve.
