Apple has announced to the developer community that the App Store will add 20 new countries to its application distribution market . Along with news of universal purchases the App Store welcomes countries such as Serbia, Iraq and the Maldives.
The App Store is now available in 155 countries and regions around the world. With the addition of 20 new participants it will come very close to covering all 206 countries in the world (according to the UN).
The arrival of the App Store to new territories is certainly cause for celebration in a world where, as Steve Jobs said, “There is an app for that” which we will translate as “There is an app for that”. Apple expresses the news in the following terms:
As indicated by Apple in its announcement, developers should mark, preferably by April 10, the option New countries and regions in the Price and availability section of the development program to have apps arrive in these new launch-ready countries .
According to the new developer agreement , the complete list of countries that will start enjoying the App Store is composed of Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Georgia, Iraq, Kosovo, Libya, Maldives, Montenegro, Morocco, Myanmar, Nauru, Rwanda, Serbia, Tonga, Vanuatu and Zambia.
