The long-awaited day for the Cupertino’s arrived and with it the keynote centered on Mac. The presentation of the event focused on announcements about accessibility and made references to the new features we will see on Apple TV.then came the presentation of the renewed MacBook and the wait has been worthwhile.

As filtered a few days ago: The new design is all metal like the 12-inch MacBook (no plastic along the hinge) in gray and silver. This new model will be available in 13 inch and 15 inch sizes.

The 13-inch device is 17% thinner, and has 23% less volume, 3 pounds, almost 12 pounds less than the previous version.

In this version we will find:

  • 2.6GHz Intel Core i7 Quad-Core processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.5 GHz.
  • 16 GB of memory at 2,133 MHz
  • 256 GB PCIe SSD1.
  • Radeon Pro 450 with 2 GB of memory
  • Four Thunderbolt 3 ports.
  • Touch Bar and Touch ID.

In this presentation Apple presented two models of 13-inch MacBook Pro, the second of them without the new Touch Bar and Touch ID:

  • 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 Quad-Core processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.4 GHz.
  • 16 GB of memory at 1600 MHz.
  • 256 GB PCIe SSD1.
  • Intel Iris Pro Graphics.
  • Two Thunderbolt 2 ports.

MacBook Pro 15-inch

In this version we will find:

  • 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 Quad-Core processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz.
  • 16 GB of memory at 2,133 MHz
  • 512 GB PCIe SSD1.
  • Radeon Pro 455 with 2 GB of memory
  • Four Thunderbolt 3 ports.
  • Touch Bar and Touch ID.

If you think it’s been worth the wait and are thinking of upgrading your MacBook these are the prices for the new models:

  • Mac Book Pro 15: From 2.699-4.999 euros
  • Mac Book Pro 13: From 1.699-3.279 euros
  • Mac Book Pro 13 without Touch Bar: 2.249,00 euros

New features

The revamped MacBook Pro surprised us with never-before-seen features and with a name change in the expected OLED panel which, contrary to the leaks, was not named Magic Toolbar but Touch Bar.

  • New keyboard with second generation 12-inch MacBook butterfly mechanism
  • The function keys replaced with dynamics from an OLED Retina display panel above the keyboard.
  • Adaptation for specific applications, context-sensitive screen color changes
  • Customizable touch panel (includes Finder, Control Strip)
  • Emojis.
  • The Touch Bar is compatible with most (if not all) Apple applications, including Xcode.
  • MacBook Pro features a 67 percent brighter screen, 67 percent higher contrast ratio, 25 percent more colors, and a display that’s as thin as the 12-inch MacBook screen.
  • Touchscreen identification available on new MacBook Pro.
  • Incorporation of Touch ID with T1 Chip, which will allow us to make our payments by Apple Pay.
  • Bar to be able to move between the different illustrations in a very fast way.

Despite rumors and all that would become known this day, MacBook was the star and iMac users were left without news.
