For those of you who are Gmail users and of course have your Address Book of contacts you may be interested in this. I’ve been looking for ways to synchronize both address books as much as possible.
And searching I found two programs: the first one A to G is free and very simple; the other one, gMailContacs has two versions, one paid and one free. This one is more elaborate.
A to G is a simple application that allows us to export our contacts from Address Book to Gmail, though not automatically. What it actually does is create a CVS (comma separated values) file with all of our contacts’ information. Then we must go to our Gmail account and entering contacts we give to import , we select our newly created file and ready. We already have all the information on both sides.
The second option is gMailContacs , a slightly more developed application that offers a more careful graphical interface and two versions. The free option allows you to import the contact name and first email address. With the payment option we already have the possibility to export name, email, phone and address. The simplest operation can not be, we enter our account and password, we give to transfer and ready.
gMailContacts is my choice at the moment , but I will keep looking at how to improve this whole synchronization issue as much as possible. And if I can, I will add each and every service I use better than best. Lately I’m a bit obsessed with this topic as I see the number of computers and posts where I interact increasing.
