Temas de interés Its last update, 3.7, brings us the support for High Sierra MacOS, with the possibility of editing HEIF images.
As we know, HEIF is the new Apple photo format used by the iPhone camera with iOS 11 and also the supported format for storing images in iCloud Photos. Therefore, Pixelmator has been updated to support this format and allow to edit the images directly in HEIF , in order not to lose quality. If you want to know more about the HEIF format, don’t hesitate to take a look at the in-depth analysis we did.
On the other hand, with High Sierra macOS we can open a photo in a third party app directly from Apple Photos with the option “Edit with…”. By this we edit the image in another app and it is saved directly in the photo library, all without leaving Photos. Well, from now on one of the apps with which we can edit the images is Pixelmator.
Other improvements in Pixelmator 3.7 update include improved support for Photoshop PSD files , an improved repair tool and the ability to drag images back from Apple Photos and Safari directly into Pixelmator.
Remember that Pixelmator is a one-time payment app for 32.99 euros. The payment is worth it, because we will have a great editing tool for years . If you’re not convinced, yesterday we did a review of the photo editing apps catalogue, in case you want an alternative. You can also wait for Pixelmator Pro, which will arrive in a few weeks, but it’s more focused on professional users.
