Since the beginning of the health emergency forced by the coronavirus, Apple has been rethinking its measures, to the point of closing its more than 500 stores worldwide when the situation became a pandemic. Now, almost two weeks after this decision, company executives have begun to raise the possibility that they may reopen in April under certain conditions.
The execution of a new schedule for the reopening of the Apple Stores , implies defining in which countries the conditions to do it would be given, following some preventions as the ones applied in China where all the Apple stores have been reopened, enacting wide security measures, such as temperature controls before entering the store, controlled entrances and reduced capacity. And where Apple has made resources available to help retail team members learn how to stay healthy and establish a comfortable workspace.
According to a statement signed by Apple Senior Vice President of Retail + People Deirdre O’Brien, local strategies are already being evaluated for some Apple stores to reopen during the second half of April.
Despite the company’s optimism, there are already places where it is clear that conditions will not be in place to reach this date, such as the United States where currently, the epicenter of new cases of coronavirus are moving westward. For now, it is more likely that the proposal will materialize in other Asian countries , such as Singapore, where, like China, the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths has already been brought under control.
