Ha! This is where someone fired from Cupertino is sure to come from. iTunes has shown a message with a functionality that doesn’t exist yet for a few hours and then disappears without a trace: MacRumors
If your device has automatic downloading enabled for applications, your updates will be downloaded to your device without having to sync.
"Automatic download"? We don't know anything about a feature that is called that, let alone one that is capable of updating applications directly to our phones or tablets. But apparently that's what Apple plans to offer us as part of the migration to the cloud that is going to happen the day after tomorrow.
What is not clear is where these updates will be downloaded from. It may be that will come directly from Apple's servers , so we wouldn't even notice that the applications are being updated. Alternatively, they may be downloaded from those rumored new Airport Extreme or Time Capsule servers equipped with iOS and A4A5 processors. One way or another, we could skip the synchronization with the USB cable.
Now we need to know if this kind of updates will also be the basis for wireless synchronization of devices or buying applications from the web to be downloaded directly to devices , as Android users have been doing for quite some time. There are less than 48 hours left to find out.
