The Sky satellite TV network has teamed up with Sainsbury’s supermarkets to make life a little more comfortable for
hooligan English football fans who want to enjoy Saturday’s game but are dragged away by their ladies to do the weekly shopping. The idea is simple: mount iPads on the carts of the super using a special stand with speakers and a solar panel to recharge the battery of the Apple tablet comfortably while watching the game (or whatever) through the Sky Go application.
But of course, some of you think that this will greatly increase the number of collisions between cars in the beer halls, don’t you? Well, rest assured. The cart is also equipped with proximity sensors so, at least in theory, no one should get hurt… unless it’s from the opposing team, of course, it’s not a plan to include helmets and boxing gloves either. Ian Burgess, the creator of the invention, has said that “To be able to create a gadget that is practical and innovative is quite a challenge but I think with the Sky Go trolley we’ve embroidered it.”
As for the Sky Go application, as expected it is only available in the English App Store and basically allows iPhone and iPad users to enjoy the five channels of Sky Sports, ESPN and Sky News.
