Not because of its app itself, but because Apple recently acquired the entire company for $400 million. Now the app receives its first update under Apple’s mandate , you can listen to songs without an Internet connection.
The truth is that this novelty is not completely new, previously I could listen to songs in offline mode . The difference is that now you will automatically upload them to the cloud and recognize them when you have an Internet connection. For us as users, the difference is that we can search for songs without worrying about whether we have an Internet connection or not, because as soon as we do, we will be notified with the song found.
Although it doesn’t look like it, this is particularly useful . It’s hard for someone in the middle of 2017 not to have a data connection on their iPhone, but not so hard that the coverage where we are is lousy. For example, you are in a shopping mall and you hear a song that interests you, if the signal is bad in the store… the offline mode becomes essential.
It is not clear how it will evolve Shazam now that Apple has acquired the company. This upgrade, despite being under Apple’s mandate, will probably take longer to develop and in Apple’s plans. So we can’t know exactly how things will change with Apple, but you can certainly benefit from it.
