TechCrunch y AppleInsider
It seems that Twitter is about to launch its own image storage service to compete with the dozens of third-party services already in operation (yfrog, lockerz, twitpic…). Sources at TechCrunch and AppleInsider have said that this new photo functionality would be integrated into iOS 5 , so we could post a photo on Twitter without any problems and without the need for an external application. Even John Gruber from Daring Fireball is betting on Twitter as “a part of the system”.
We’re not used to seeing agreements between Apple and Twitter, although the social network is a tremendous success on all Apple mobile devices and has one of the pioneering applications that appeared along with the Mac App Store last Kings Day. If this is true it would be a sign that Apple wants to bet strongly on social networks . We’ll see if it works out, because Cupertino’s company is not used to get too much right with the social thing (the last attempt was Ping).
