Since Apple entered the mobile phone industry with the iPhone in 2007 and Samsung launched similar terminals later, there is a great rivalry between the two companies. This rivalry has given rise to various rumours that Apple may be looking for other providers and thus stop depending on Samsung. The reality is that the California-based company continues to rely on the Korean company for the supply of many components, apparently because it is the only company with the production capacity and quality that Apple is looking for.
Now a new report has appeared that goes against previous rumours. Apparently, Samsung has created a team of about 200 people who work exclusively on screens for Apple products . Bloomberg, the source of this report, assures that Samsung’s intention is ” to strengthen commercial ties ” between both companies, something that is obviously necessary if we consider the instability of recent years.
The report states that this team works independently and that its members are only allowed to share information among themselves . It seems that they are focused on the development of screens for iPad and MacBook, so perhaps in a while we will see important developments in these devices. However, the report states that the team was created on April 1st, so it could take quite some time to see any results if they really exist.
We don’t know if there will finally be some kind of official confirmation about the creation of this team, and we also don’t know if its creation could really bring great news to Apple products. Even so, it’s a joy to see that news of a rapprochement between the two companies is emerging , as Samsung has demonstrated for many years its great work as a manufacturer of different components for Apple products.
