Samsung cierra alianza con Apple para ser el fabricante de los próximos procesadores A9
Many rumors have surrounded the manufacture of Apple’s next processor , the supposed A9 that would give life to the next iPhone. Last year, Mr. Kim Ki-nam, president of semiconductors at Samsung, went out to give a statement to the Korean media, mentioning that 2015 would be an intense year as they were about to close a major deal with companies such as Qualcomm and Apple for the manufacture of their next processors.
Time passed and Samsung denied those statements mentioned that it was still nothing official and negotiations were still going on. But after those negotiations have come to an end, according to information published by Bloomberg, Samsung will make its triumphant return as they will be the ones manufacturing the next iPhone processor for this year.
Let’s remember that Apple and Samsung have a long history of legal battles and that’s why Apple decided to take Samsung out of its devices in favor of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), who were responsible for the manufacture of the A8 processor for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, as well as the A8X for the iPad Air 2.
But this decision was apparently not the most accurate as TSMC mentioned on many occasions that did not have the capacity to supply the demand requested by Apple. Even several Korean media outlets have spoken of this change in the shipping line, which is an obvious move for Apple due to the significant increase in iPhone sales, but this would not happen until 2016, so according to this new information, they have decided to move up the timetable for the agreement.
Of course Apple, Samsung and TSMC have not wanted to make any statements on this issue and we can only wait for the official announcement.
