Preparing for the iOS 8.3 Jailbreak on iPad and iPhone

iOS 8.3 arrived last week and many users are waiting for TaiG to announce the Jailbreak compatible with this version of the Apple operating system. But what you can do at the moment is prepare your iPhone or iPad for when the Jailbreak iOS 8.3 is available , which is about to fall.

We have known a few days ago, before the release of Apple’s O.S. update, that iOS 8.3 eliminates some exploits that TaiG used to perform the Jailbreak, so we assume that TaiG’s team will be working on the way to find the hole through which the new version of their tool can be inserted.

We are going to give you a series of tips to prepare you for the arrival of the next version of the Jailbreak iOS 8.3 from TaiG.

Backup your device in iTunes

This is something we recommend almost always. Before performing any Jailbreak, it is always best to back up your iPhone or iPad device to iTunes . This prevents you from losing important and personal data if something goes wrong.

It’s a good idea to make this copy in the next few days, so you’ll have your device ready to perform the Jailbreak from minute one.

Back up installed Tweaks

When you back up your device, any tweaks you have installed on the device will not be saved in that backup, so we recommend that you back up separately.

You can use an application like PKGBackup , which is on Cydia and allows you to save your installed Tweaks to the Jailbreak in Dropbox, and then restore them. Be sure to check before you use Tweaks, some of them may have been unused for a while and are not worth keeping. We published a PKGBackup tutorial for backing up Tweaks a few months ago.

Do not update via OTA (Over the Air)

When you are going to perform the Jailbreak iOS 8.3, you will first have to upgrade the operating system to this version. It’s best to upgrade from iTunes by connecting your device to a Mac or Windows computer.

The specific reason why we recommend that you do this is because on other occasions, the Jailbreak tool has not worked correctly after the OTA update .

These are some of the simple tips we wanted to give you, before TaiG launches the Jailbreak iOS 8.3. It is possible that it will arrive in the next few days, TaiG already confirmed after the special event on the Jailbreak in China that they are working on the development of the new compatible version. We got to know these tips thanks to Gotta Be Mobile.

Remember that there is no compatible version of the Jailbreak for iOS 8.1.3, nor for iOS 8.2, Apple eliminated the possibility of making the release for those versions and it seems that TaiG will choose to launch its Jailbreak tool for the latest iOS 8.3 version . We will see what happens in the next days.

Will you perform the Jailbreak iOS 8.3 when it becomes available? You can leave your answer in the comments.
