It’s still the middle of August, in the middle of summer, and we’re adapting to all the new things that OS X Lion has brought us. But if we look closely at the calendars there is really little left for September, and with it a Apple music event in which we could see surprises. And as expected, the first dates are starting to appear. A Japanese source has indicated that this event might come on September 7th , a Wednesday.
At these types of events, Apple usually renews its entire range of iPod players, which are losing sales year after year with the push that devices with iOS are having. This year, however, we could also see the arrival of a new iPhone as at this summer’s WWDC the company focused on presenting OS X Lion and its cloud-centric future. The shipments from the manufacturers also agree that we could see a presentation of the phone to be launched in late September or October in some countries.
Looking back at the calendar, Apple has held music events on September 1, 2010, September 9, 2009, and September 9, 2008. Not much is known about what the new iPod can bring, although we have known for months that the next Nano can keep its shape and bring a camera. It seems to be a lie, but there is not much left for the return to school.
UPDATE : Through our own sources we have been able to find out that other companies are betting on September 5th, which makes me think that basically the week from September 5th to 11th gains strength as the week when Apple holds a keynote.
