Palm realizes its mistake and stops offering synchronization between WebOS and iTunes

Looks like the cat and mouse game is finally over for Apple and Palm. Both companies, which were getting along well in the past, started a silly and absurd discussion about the support of the Palm Pre in iTunes . A battle that even came close to going to court after Palm’s formal complaint in the USB forum.

But after that last news we hadn’t heard anything until a few days ago, when Palm presented the latest version of its WebOS, which no longer officially supports synchronization with Apple iTunes software.

Although this is an Apple blog and we take for granted a position closer to Apple’s than Palm’s, in this case I have to give Apple the absolute right. Palm wanted to take advantage of a program over which it has no control or license to use. Luckily for Palm, having quite a few Apple developers on staff made creating that synchronization no problem. Now it seems that the companies have talked behind closed doors and both have left a topic with little to discuss .
