Recently the renowned presenter Oprah Winfrey announced a new alliance with Apple to launch ‘Oprah’s Book Club’, a platform that will connect readers around the world with selections in Apple Books and author interviews in Apple TV +. Since this book club started last month with the first book “The Water Dancer” by Ta-Nehisi Coates, the artist has explained on her website why she decided to partner with Cupertino’s firm for this project .

According to the American presenter, her love of books, combined with the size and power of Apple, make her project have the potential to be the “most vibrant book club in the world” .

“Apple is in a billion pockets. For me, that represents a magnificent opportunity to connect the world through reading. With each announcement of a new book club selection, users will have the opportunity to buy the book, read it and then participate in a conversation with the author about the story and the writing process , Winfrey indicated.

The Oprah Book Club runs through Apple Books. For all purchases of “The Water Dancer”, the club’s first book, Apple is donating a portion of the sale to the American Library Association .

“My partnership with Apple gives me the opportunity to take advantage of one of my most joyful experiences and spread the word. I know for sure that you will appreciate the community that results when people get involved with stories that improve their lives , said the presenter.

The project will also be featured on Apple TV+, and the first episode will include an interview with the author of the first book, Ta-Nehisi Coates . This interview will be recorded in front of a live audience at the Carnegie Library Apple store this month.
