Recently, one thousand employees of one of these factories in Shenzen went on strike arguing that their working conditions should be improved.
Chinese Labor Watch, on behalf of the striking employees, requested that the customers of these factories take responsibility, insisting particularly on Apple for having 300 employees dedicated only to their keyboards . The strike began when the employees refused to comply with a new night shift that management imposed on the workforce.
Apple knows that this is a sensitive issue, and with some past research it has already learned the lesson and dedicated an entire section of its official website to compliance with labor standards and accountability with all the factories’ staff that manufacture all the components they need. Once again, Cupertino has been inspecting working conditions while negotiating improvements with employees.
