Office 2016 for Mac Upgrade

A few weeks after Office 2016 for Mac’s groundbreaking beta release, the first update to this preview came out today, one month after the first release. It is not a simple bug fix, but comes with a new interface and new features .

Word has received the most news, while OneNote remains unchanged. In the image that accompanies the article you can see the before and after of the global interface, which has new colors and a new distribution of the elements . The top bar is now the color of the application (blue for Word, green for Excel, and orange for PowerPoint); the bottom bar looks cleaner. Outlook and OneNote have not yet received these visual improvements.

Outlook

  • Network enhancements for Exchange accounts
  • New “Propose New Time” feature: attendees can propose a new time for a meeting and meeting organizers can view and modify meeting proposals and send updates.

Please note that Office 2016 Preview for Mac is available free to all Mac users , and is compatible with OS X Yosemite only. Until Microsoft releases the final version in the second half of 2015, we won’t have to pay within the beta period.
