Among the many new features introduced by Apple today, there is one that has gone a little further: the update of iTunes to version 12.6. In this new version we find new features for movie rentals and improvements in the application’s performance.
Until now, if you rented a movie on iTunes you were limited to the device where you rented it. That’s changed. Now you can rent a movie from the iTunes Store and watch it on any of your devices , or virtually any device that has your Apple ID inserted. That’s a welcome change.
To use this new feature you need to upgrade to iTunes 12.6 (already available for everyone) and have in the iPhone or iPad iOS 10.3, likewise, the Apple TV requires tvOS 10.2 As you know these are two beta versions, although surely in the coming days we will have the final version for everyone of these two operating systems.
To upgrade to iTunes 12.6, you must go to the Mac App Store on the Upgrades tab. This is where you’ll see a new update available. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s just a matter of hours, since it’s gradually expanding. And no, does not require a Sierra 10.12.4 MacOS to install.
