The matter was left in the hands of justice and it seems that this week the lawsuit is ready for judgment. The judge initially seems to agree with Apple , so in the absence of a final judgment they would not have to worry about this issue anymore.
Judge Glidea of the International Trade Commission finds that Apple does not infringe any Nokia patents with its multi-touch devices. In 2009, Nokia filed a complaint alleging possible misuse of patents related to Wi-Fi, GSM and UMTS connectivity . And these were being infringed since the very appearance of the iPhone.
Now it remains for the other judges of the commission to ratify or not the decision of this judge and this will happen on August 1st. Nokia, as it could not be otherwise, has declared through the mouth of its spokesman Mike Durrant that it is not in agreement with the decision and that it will take the appropriate options when it is firm. We will see what happens, but it seems that Nokia does not intend to throw in the towel on this issue.
