Of the few businesses that Nokia kept after Microsoft’s purchase is its HERE Maps platform, which is about to turn one year since it was removed from the App Store due to “problems with iOS 7 and the user experience” according to its developers, this is only a month away from being available.
We have to accept that the experience offered by HERE Maps was not ideal compared to Apple’s platforms and especially Google, but after the new version of their maps was released in Android receiving very good reviews and acceptance by users , is that now make the official announcement of the next availability for iOS.
The new version of HERE Maps will arrive at iOS at the beginning of 2015 , as announced by Nokia itself, who also assume that the first beta of its application has been downloaded by over one million users on Android, and that from today is available to all users of that platform publicly and globally.
New features in this revamped version include offline map viewing , new points of interest such as restaurants and shops, public transport information in over 800 cities in 40 countries, location sharing with Glympse and a new voice-assisted turn-by-turn navigation system.
With this it will certainly be an attractive option within the Apple platform, but will it be enough to dethrone those already known, we will see in time, in the meantime we just have to wait and see the final version for iOS.
