At least that’s what they’re saying from the Associated Press, where they report that the entire interior of the store will be renovated to adapt to the new Apple: new types of products must be sold, many more customers must be supported than were expected a few years ago, and quality service must continue to be offered.

Apple had already done work in this store to simplify its glass cube using larger, harder to build pieces

While the works last, Apple will occupy a location very close to the glass cube to house a temporary Store . In this way, even though they are under construction, customers will still have a place to be served. It is, together with the renovation of the Regent Street store in London, the second renovation we see of historic Apple Stores.

Apple has already done some renovations in their store on Fifth Avenue, but only to simplify their glass cube by using larger pieces of glass. Now the whole store is being renovated, so the work will last much longer. In fact there is no specific end date , so if you were planning to go to Manhattan to see this shop among other things you will have to re-plan your trip.
