Ingeniero de Software especialista en C++ para MapasVía
If after the last quarter’s earnings conference we were talking about the number of company purchases by Apple over the last year. The recent jobs posted on Apple’s employment website confirm what we were thinking. Apple is still working hard to improve its Mapping application.
We see that Apple has bought companies in charge of improving the maps application. Companies like Embark, HopSpot or Locationary are clearly oriented towards that. And the new job profile Apple is looking for is clearly aimed at the same.
Apple is looking for software engineers to design the next generation of Mapping services . Specifically, they are looking for ways to develop walking routes, something very similar to what Google Maps already offers. Their requirements are more than three years of software development, knowledge in C++ and Linux .
Apple is still trying to improve the initial fiasco of its Maps application, and little by little it continues to achieve notable improvements. This is a clear demonstration that they are at it and continue to look for new services to offer to the users of their application.
