Bureaucracy is playing tricks on Apple’s plans to build its second central campus in Cupertino. The works to build the giant “spaceship” are being delayed and may not start until 2014, which would not allow the facilities to open until the year 2016 . Initially, Cupertino’s company planned to do so by 2015.
What is delaying the start of this work is a report on the environmental impact that the building would have, which, although it has already been formalized, cannot be finished until next summer. The Cupertino town council is waiting for certain changes in the way the work is to begin and in the placement of an underground auditorium to see if they can speed up the process, but the most optimistic predictions leave it for mid-2013.
A curiosity: the simple fact that Apple has changed some points of the plan of the building and these have to be published on the website of the city council of Cupertino will force the institution to hire more bandwidth for that website . It is clear that interest in this innovative building is very high. The good news is that even if the works are delayed by two years, the inauguration would only take one year.
